Bunker, Ljubljana announces an international OPEN CALL for participation in the Dance Communication Lab for dancers from the partner countries (Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Poland, Romania, and Sweden), taking place from August 29th to 31st, 2024, in Murska Sobota, Slovenia.
DCL – Dance Communication Lab is a short-term exchange formula between dancers, where the main aim is, that 6 professional dancers, coming from the above-mentioned partner countries get to know each other through improvisation, which is the most distinctive process of creation in contemporary dance. The 3 day-long research project will take place in the frame of Front@ Festival, under the mentorship of a Slovene dancer-choreographer Andreja Podrzavnik ( https://koreografski.info/en/andreja_rauch_podrzavnik/ ) and will result in project presentation on the 3rd day. This edition of DCL in Slovenia is organized in cooperation with Front@ Festival, Murska Sobota, Slovenia.
The performance might take any format or location (e.g., indoor, outdoor, walking). The length is usually between 15-40 minutes and it has a public audience.
When:
August 28, 2024 – arrival of participants
August 29, 2024 – creative process
August 30, 2024 – creative process
August 31, 2024 – creative process and presentation of the project, followed by audience discussion.
September 1, 2024 – departure
Participation criteria:
– only dance artists from the countries listed are invited and accepted,
– only dance artists who will send their detailed professional CV can apply,
– we are looking for dance artists with stage experience.
What Bunker will offer:
– Accommodation for four nights,
– per diems (in the amount of 25 EUR per day, 75 EUR in total),
– free tickets to performances of the festival,
– travel costs (fully covered by your sending organization, national Beyond Front@ partner),
– your fee in the amount of 150€ gross (will be covered by your sending organization, national Beyond Front@ partner)
